Public Trust PAC Endorses Candidates

On this first day of early voting, the Public Trust PAC has released its list of endorsements.  The Public Trust was formed a few years ago as a non-partisan political action committee that financially supports and makes endorsements in local political races. 

It describes itself as a group working to "improve the quality and effectiveness oflocal government."  It also says its only agenda is to "improve on the outstanding quality of Knoxville/Knox County."

Members include:  Ben Atchley and Tommy Schumpert (co-chairs), David Moon (treasurer), Sam Furrow, Henrietta Grant, Sherri Lee and Suzanne Schriver.   Former UT President Joe Johnson is also joining the PAC and will take part in future endorsements.

Below are the endorsements by the Public Trust for the upcoming City of Knoxville Council races:

• District 1:          Robert Marlino and Nick Pavlis           
• District 2:          Duane Grieve and Ken Knight
• District 3:          Gerry Holman
• District 6:          Daniel Brown
